Recipe: Vegan Energy Balls Using YorBar
It's been a hot minute since I posted a recipe. In fact, it's been a hot minute since I posted anything on my blog. Life has been quite busy these past few weeks, and honestly, I haven't had the time to do much. I've been focusing mainly on my job and on my Personal Trainer course, and trust me that's plenty! But now I'm here and I can't wait to tell you about this new product - YorBar.
YorBar is a Canadian company (from Mississauga, Ontario) that specializes in baking mixes. These baking mixes can be used to make a lot of different snacks such as energy bars, protein bars, cookies, smoothies, and much more. All you have to do is use your imagination and get that creative ball of yours rolling. Afraid of experimenting? Don't you worry. Their website as well as their Facebook page contains a fair amount of recipes.
So last week, YorBar reached out to me and asked me whether they could send me a few mixes to try. Of course I said yes right away. They sent me the Acai Apple Walnut Currant Mix, the Apricot Almond Currant Mix, and the Cocoa Apricot Cranberry Mix. What I love about these mixes is that they are made of natural ingredients and don't contain any preservatives, artificial colouring, or artificial flavours. And you know what else? They're absolutely delicious!
So today I tried making energy balls using the Acai Apple Walnut Currant Mix and they turned out amazing.
- YorBar Mix
- 1 cup of pitted dates
- 1/2 of a banana
- 2 TBS of powdered peanut butter
- 2 TBS of all natural crunchy peanut butter
- 1/2 of a scoop of protein (I used Chocolate)
- Soak your dates in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain.
- Blend your YorBar mix in a blender. Put aside.
- Blend the rest of the ingredients in a blender. Then gently mix in your YorBar mix.
- Form little balls.
- Leave it to set overnight in the fridge.
Bon appétit mes chéries!
