How To Relieve Trapped Gas

How To Relieve Trapped Gas

You've read the title. You know this article will be all about farting. Or the inability of farting actually. So don't laugh and be respectful. Okay? Okay? Okay! I'm assuming that if you're reading this then you have excess gas trapped in your abdomen and it's probably causing you a lot of pain. But don't you worry, together we'll figure out how to put an end to this suffering (or at least minimize it).

So what is trapped gas? Trapped gas is exactly what it says - trapped gas. It's trapped. It can't get out. When I tell my family and friends about this problem, they usually respond by saying, "so fart." And I laugh in their face thinking if I could then trust me I would. But I can't.

You see, I've been battling trapped gas for the last few years. It all began when I started purging. Individuals suffering from bulimia are known to experience gas, bloating, indigestion and constipation, which all cause abdominal pain. Although it's been four years that I'm no longer bulimic, I still suffer from trapped gas occasionally.

If you're like me then you've probably googled "how to relieve trapped gas" a million times.  You might have even YouTubbed it. A lot of websites recommend things like taking over-the-counter gas remedies, drinking peppermint tea, chewing ginger, and much much more. However, none of these tips work for me. I've literally tried everything. EVERYTHING. So, I've decided to take this matter into my own hands and find effective ways how to help pass out gas of my body more quickly. Here they are:

1. Roll on a swiss ball

Lie with your stomach on a swiss ball. Both your hands and your feet should be on the ground. Start rolling back and forth and from side to side. It's also important to move your stomach in a circular pattern. You will feel the gas bubbles in your stomach. This exercise should help you get rid of your trapped wind or at least minimize the pain.

2. Child pose

Start in a kneeling position. Slowly lower your torso. Your belly should comfortably rest on your thighs and your forehead should touch the floor. Remain in this position for a few minutes. Always make sure you are relaxed. And don't forget to breathe.

3. Dead bug

Lie on your back and hug your knees into your chest. This is another great position because it will help you push the gas out naturally.

4. Sit on the toilet

Ok! This is probably one of the weirdest tips, but trust me it works. So pull your underwear down and sit on the toilet. Similarly to the child pose, you're going to rest your belly on your thighs. While in this pose, you can also try massaging your tummy with your hands using circular motions. Stay in this position until you're able to relieve some gas.

And that's all. I really hope these tips will help you kill some gas bubbles. If they do, please let me know. I'm genuinely interested in knowing whether they work for another human. And if you have any other tips then feel free to share them with me, with the world.

5. Lie on your stomach

Lie on your stomach on a mat. Make sure your head is lying down as well.  Place your arms at your sides. Now you're going to want to start pushing your stomach to the floor. Repeat this until gas is relieved.

And that's all. I really hope these tips will help you kill some gas bubbles. If they do, please let me know. I'm genuinely interested in knowing whether they work for another human. And if you have any other tips then feel free to share them with me, with the world.
